The moment you walk through the automatic sliding doors, you will hear a cheerful, synchronized greeting from the staff: สวัสดีครับ/ค่ะ เชิญครับ/ค่ะ (Sawatdi khrap/kha, choen khrap/kha - "Hello, welcome!"). Thai 7-Elevens are legendary for their incredible array of ready-to-eat meals, from basil minced pork with rice to hot sandwiches. When you bring a pre-packaged meal to the counter, the cashier will always ask if you want it heated up: เวฟไหมครับ/ค่ะ (wep mai khrap/kha - "Microwave?"). If you want it hot, simply reply เวฟด้วยครับ (wep duai khrap - "Please microwave it"). In recent years, Thailand has implemented a nationwide ban on single-use plastic bags in major retail stores to combat environmental issues. Therefore, the cashier will ask if you need a bag (รับถุงพลาสติกไหม - rap thung phlat-sa-tik mai), which usually costs a small fee. It is culturally appreciated and environmentally responsible to bring your own bag and reply ไม่รับถุงครับ มีมาเอง (mai rap thung khrap, mi ma eng - "No bag, I brought my own").
